Meet the Best
Our Management Team
Building strong commercial relationships has been the key to establishing and growing this business. Throughout the challenging times during the Canterbury Rebuild it has been Chris’s persistent and consistent approach that has won his company the trust and respect of his clients.
Delivering promised results has landed many large and complex jobs and brought in more work from the big building contractors. Through meticulous communication with new and existing clients he can manage a large work load and has a solid team to back him up.
A boiler maker by trade and with over 30 years’ welding and project experience he knows first-hand the skills that are required and expected from his team.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys boating, motorbikes and spending time with his family.
Structural Steel – Workshop Manager
Aaron has 15 years’ experience in the Steel Industry and training includes Drafting, Fitting & Machining as well as Mechanical. Having a technical background has enabled Aaron (with the help of the rest of the team) to develop internal Quality Assurance systems and documentation to ensure that all fabricated and welded products meet or exceed detailed engineered design.
“Steel is who he is”. He would say that his mentor Chris Roberts has played an important role in skill-setting Aaron over recent years to ensure that Welding & Engineering Ltd delivers quality manufactured products.
Aaron, Canterbury born and bred, is a family man who likes spending time with his children and enjoying his motorbike.
Office Manager and Health & Safety
Fraser comes from a management background, initially from the retail sector that progressed into sales. As Office Manager he is in charge of day to day administration and assisting in the running of the company. This includes keeping company records up to date and client relationship management.
He recently became our new Health & Safety Manager / Champion and is doing great things in creating a new generation of safety culture within our organisation.
Hobbies include mechanical related interests, bikes, cars, hunting and fishing.
Project Coordinator - Draughting
Martyn has been involved in the steel industry for over 40 years, 70% of that in structural steel, workshop and site and the rest in detailing and coordinating. He has a very practical approach. With a sound understanding of workshop and site requirements he can transform this data into drawing packages. This skill alone has ensured lifelong commercial relationships.
Martyn has previously been a joint business owner and for 5 years specialised in steel detailing for fabrication. All large projects were 3D modelled.
He is able to provide full drawing set-outs to satisfy engineers and architects and client approval requirements, plus site layouts for coordination with other trades.
